Hello! My name is Rebecca, and I’m an English teacher from the United States. I have been teaching English online to children and adults for almost 6 years and I am TESOL certified. I’m a patient, energetic, and adaptable teacher. I have a neutral American accent that is clear and very easy to understand. I specialize in building the confidence that English learners need to speak English fluently. I teach a variety of skills: listening, speaking, reading, pronunciation, and grammar. The key to fluency in a language is a well-rounded education. My goal is to help my students not only grow their English skills but have lots of fun while doing so!
More About Me
I’m a 33-year-old woman from Washington State, which is in the Pacific Northwest of the United States of America. My husband and I have two kids, Noah (12 years old) and Emmett (11 years old). We have three cats – two black cats and one brown tabby. I love reading, drawing, learning languages, and playing video games. I can play some guitar, and I like to go running outdoors. My dream is to travel the world and speak foreign languages with natives!
My Experience
Palfish (伴鱼) is one of the largest English tutoring companies in China. I started working there in July of 2017 as a “freetalk” tutor for adults (conversation class), then I was hired to teach the Official Kids Course in November of 2017 where l taught children until February of 2022. As an English teacher there, I taught over 14,000 classes to more than 2,500 students ranging from 2 to 16 years old and beyond. I honed my skills teaching students with a wide range of abilities, needs, and strengths.
Curious Cat Project is the private tutoring business I started in in February 2022. Since then, I have had many long-term students and I’ve gained a lot of experience in building a curriculum tailored to each individual student. I communicate directly with parents and students on a weekly basis, answering questions and providing material and information to help my students get the most out of each class.
